The Armidale and New England Cat Club secretary planned the event after noticing how far cat enthusiasts such as herself had to travel for cat shows.
“I put a lot of my energy travelling to Sydney and Brisbane which I love doing - but I thought it would be a nice thing to do in a country setting,” Ms Keevers said.
The Invergowrie resident breeds bengals and plans to exhibit her cat Lucie in the May 9 show.
“We’re trying to make it family orientated … it will be great for the public to see all the cats and then vote for the cats as well,” Ms Keevers said.
There will be painting and a jumping castle for the young and kittens to adopt.
Gates open at 7am at the Armidale Showground on May 9, with cat judging from 8.30am.
