That’s when the mother will kiss goodbye to her long locks as part of the World’s Greatest Shave, with all money going to the Leukaemia Foundation.
Ms Pancaldi said she sympathised with the plight of parents with sick children.
“Working in childcare and having young children myself, one motivating aspect for me was helping families stay near their child if they’re in hospital,” she said.
A friend of Ms Pancaldi was also also diagnosed twice with leukaemia, while her husband’s aunt died from the disease.
Ms Pancaldi has her own fundraising page where she has raised more than $1000 out of her target of $3000.
Her original goal was $560, enough for a family to stay by their sick child’s side in hospital for one week. But she increased it after she saw how well she was doing with donations mostly from family and friends.
Those interested can follow Ms Pancaldi’s journey towards short hair at her Facebook page, Denim’s Greatest Shave.
