While farmers have been basking in the much needed rain, cricketers have been left frustrated with a number of washouts since the start of December.
However the last week’s deluge is tipped to clear in time for play to successfully go ahead for tomorrow’s first round of two-day matches for the Armidale Cricket District Association.
After 12 rounds of one-day cricket to start the season, the first grade competition switches to two-day mode for the next six weeks.
In tomorrow’s opening round Hillgrove clash with City at the Armidale Sportsground and Easts take on Servies at Harris Park.
The opening round of the New England Mutual T20 was also cancelled last Friday night due to rain.
Tonight’s second round of the competition sees defending champions Moxon’s face ADDA Constructions at 5.15pm and Ex-Services play Sportspower at 7.30pm. Both matches will be played under lights at the Sportsground.
