The group was made up of education service workers from the province of Aceh who visited as part of the Dinas Pendidkan Aceh Staff Training Program.
Staff working in IT, human resources, accounting and more came to see how Australia runs its education system by visiting Drummond City Public School and Duval High School.
They also visited the regional head office for the Education Department and took part in English language classes run by the university.
The visitors have been staying with host families which Cut Ruvina Hakim said had been an interesting experience.
Ms Hakim said there had been some cultural differences between the families and visitors with she herself wondering how she could appropriately pray at 4am.
The program is the result of a memorandum of understanding between UNE and Aceh’s education service.
Nuzulianda is a high school officer in Aceh and said it was very valuable for them to see Australia’s education system first hand.
“I remember the last thing my supervisor said before we left was ‘you have to learn how the Australian government organises their education’,” he said.
The visitors return home on Saturday.
