Branch president Jane Schmidt commended the current roster of members but said new blood was needed.
“Myself and Belinda Hook are the youngest members in our 50s and most of the others are in their 80s and 90s,” Mrs Schmidt said.
She said the branch had 15 active members, about 10 of which attend the regular monthly meetings.
But while new members are needed, Mrs Schmidt said the current ones were dedicated to keep the branch going.
“Everybody works really hard within the organisation,” she said.
“The ones that are there are trying hard to keep it going.”
One member Mrs Schmidt commended was 101-year-old Kathleen Mitchell.
Mrs Mitchell has a long history of serving the Red Cross in this area, having encouraged many women to join the Bundarra branch between World War I and World War II
Mrs Scmidt said she was an example to others having worked the branch’s plant stall until she was 98-years-old.
She described the 101-year-old as an honour to the branch.
Mrs Mitchell has played her part in history too, having met The Prince of Wales in her younger days.
Not only that, but in 2010 DNA tests proved she was related to a World War I digger killed during the war in Europe.
