Now in its second year, the Well Fair will be held at the University of New England on September 3.
Organisers from the independent student advocate group Uni4Me are hard at work to make sure students know it is okay to not to take life so seriously.
“It is good for your mental health to play,” Tom Fisher said.
“It opens up a dialogue about mental health and wellbeing with students and shows them the importance of taking a break and that there is support out there.”
Fellow advocates Mark Jongebloed and Kate Wood said this year’s free event included support from organisations on the day to promote mental health. These will include Lifeline, resources from Beyond Blue, SANE, RUOK? and Headspace in Tamworth.
“It’s about being well,” Ms Wood said.
“Last year it really spread by word of mouth and via Facebook, but this year we have really advertised the fair.”
The day will include petting zoos, jumping castles, fun activities and free show bags including resources about mental health and wellbeing services.
