It started with the zone champions and where the 7-8 years team, pictured, placed second.
The young stars were not the only ones from the club to shine at the zone competition.
Molly Evans, Michelle Haynes, Niamh Evans, Lily Baber, Charlotte Williams, Georgina Hebblewhite and Michelle Pearce all secured a top five finish.
Their success qualified them for the national finals that wrapped up in Sydney.
Niamh Evans and Melissa Sweeney were both selected to compete in the final and while both were unlucky not to place in the final, they both are now ranked in the top 15 in the country.
The club’s associate Michelle Pearce said to have two competitors in the national final is a great achievement for the club.
“Reaching the final is a really big deal and it was a wonderful surprise as it has been a long time since we have two at the one time in the final,” she said.
While the club will enjoy a break over the summer, practice will resume once school commences in 2014.
