HOLLY Harris and Ben Brunckhorst have given the next generation of bike riders plenty of helpful hints at The Armidale School’s annual bike day.

Riders as young as four strapped on their helmets to bike care basics, completed obstacle courses and went for a distance ride.
Harris, the national mountain bike champion and Armidale junior sports star and her New England Mountain Bikers teammate, Brunckhorst imparted some wisdom.
The students then took part in a triathlon either as an individual or as part of a team.
Year 4 student Nicola Simmons said: “We had to see how many times we could ride around one of the ovals in half an hour, and also did an obstacle course riding through a track marked by ropes.”
Classmate Tristan Rottcher, who rides with mountain bikers, agreed.
“I really enjoyed doing the laps, and also the triathlon.” he said.
“Bike riding is very healthy and a lot of fun.”
