The great nephew of David Henry Drummond, member for Northern Tablelands from 1920 to 1927, Mr Goode has manned polling booths for the Nationals since 1954.
Today he is handing out pamphlets at Arding Uniting Church Hall and says a steady stream of voters has turned out throughout the morning.
"I used to hand out how-to-vote cards for the Country Party, until they changed their name to the Nationals," Mr Goode says. "I'll continue to volunteer at elections for as long as I am able."
Nearby, at Uralla Anglican Church Hall, Harrison Miller, 7, joined his parents Brendan and Rosemary as they handed out pamphlets for Nationals' candidate Adam Marshall.
Bill Andrew, vice chairman of the Uralla branch of the Nationals, said a steady stream of voters had flowed through the gates to vote.
"This election seems to have polarised people," he said. "They seem to have made their minds firmly up and I detect quite a bit of support for Adam [Marshall]".
Also at Uralla, Greg Tauval handed out voting cards for independent Jim Maher. Later tonight he will join his wife, the chef at Happy Thai, where Dr Maher will host an election night party for volunteers.
