Following the success of its 2022 annual quilt raffle, the Quilters and Patchworkers of New England will donate $3500 to the Rural Kidney Association.

The cheque will bring the total amount put back into the community by the group during the past ten years to an impressive $36,500.
Last year the group donated $4000 to Freeman House, In 2019 Backtrack benefitted from its efforts, in 2018 it was the Helping Children and Families Association and in 2017 it was Lifeline.
"Each year, our members make a quilt to raffle and then choose a worthy charity from applications received," said QPNE member and exhibition convener Robyn Wood.
"This year, the proceeds will go to The Rural Kidney Association for the Norm Bourke Home Dialysis Boxes."

Tickets were sold leading up to the group's annual exhibition in Legacy House during March.
"The 2022 quilt was inspired by a number of paper pieced rosettes donated by Jenny Cugley," Mrs Woods said.
"A few members of our group made them into a beautiful traditional quilt, and Meredith Budd of Dragon Quilting Services, Kootingal kindly quilted it for us."
The lucky winner was a gentleman who had recently moved to Armidale, Mrs Woods said.
"He was delighted and said he would give it to his daughter," she said.
"When I saw the writing on the stub, I realised I'd sold him the winning ticket, and that is the third year in a row I have sold the winning one."
Quilters and Patchworkers of New England meetings are held on the first and third Thursdays between 9.30am and 1.30pm and the second and fourth Wednesdays between 7pm and 9.30 pm at RFBI in the Masonic Village on Cookes Road, Armidale.
"Anyone interested in is welcome to come along," Mrs Woods said.
