A body has been located following a house fire in Glen Innes on Wednesday morning.

About 1.20am on Wednesday, April 27 emergency services were called to a house fire along the New England Highway in Ben Lomond - about 40km south of Glen Innes.
Fire and Rescue NSW officers extinguished the fire; however, the home was extensively damaged.
Officers from New England Police District secured a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the blaze.

Following an inspection of the property this afternoon, officers located a body.
While the body is yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be that of a man who resided in the home.
The fire is not being treated as suspicious, and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
It's the second house fire death within 24 hours and one of 13 home blazes since Sunday in New South Wales, prompting Fire and Rescue NSW to urge the public to be extra cautious during the colder months to avoid further tragedy.
