After two previous years of COVID interrupted and impacted Anzac Day ceremonies, people have returned to the dawn service in their hundreds, to celebrate the Anzac spirit and remember those whose lives have been lost in service to their country.
The Armidale Anzac Day dawn service was attended by locals, including Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall who captured images of the event on his Instagram account.

This year marks the first time since 2001 that Anzac Day has been commemorated in Australia without the Defence Force being involved in any active operations.
The last Australian troops were pulled out of Afghanistan last year, having been there since 2001.
