The Armidale track hosted a full-TAB seven-race meet on Tuesday.
This year's high rainfall has seen numerous meets cancelled, postponed or relocated.
The casualties included December's Armidale Cup, which was moved to Tamworth, and March's Guyra Cup which was cancelled.
The sun finally came out and dried out the track enough to host Tuesday's event.
"This is probably about our first race meeting out of our last six meetings, our first meeting since November," Dedes said on Tuesday.
"It is just great to be back racing again, it really is.
"Sun is out and the track is absolutely terrific."
It was a good day all-round with Armidale trainer Stirling Osland bagging a double.
Kingstar Bullet was guided by Mikayla Weir to a half-length win in the 1300m Benchmark 58 Handicap.
Deep Mirror, ridden by Aaron Bullock, won the 1100m Benchmark 58 Handicap.

Armidale hasn't been the only track affected by the wet weather with flooding on the coast and Glen Innes cancelled last Saturday.
"There have been a lot of meetings washed out," Dedes said.
"They raced at Tamworth yesterday [Monday], and Grafton, which we do draw horses from and we still drew really good fields so it just goes to show that with all the race meetings washed out, the trainers are just looking to start their horses somewhere."
Armidale is scheduled to host a meet on Anzac Day and Dedes is hoping for more sunny skies.
"We just hope it keeps going and we can race again when we have another meeting in a fortnight's time, Anzac Day," he said.
"It is a non-TAB but it is a big day for the community nd we just hope we can get a few people over here and enjoy the day."
