This could run through the now unused rail yard, eliminating many traffic issues, reduce extra commuting time for the developing industrial areas and southern commuters, reduce ongoing fuel use and carbon emissions into the future and more easily accommodate and ease traffic of the (supposedly) expanding population of Armidale into the future.
This would involve some additional road development in the area, but would be a great, long-term investment into improved efficiency of transport on the western side of Armidale, benefiting industry, the general public and the environment.
