There was a big turn out of golfers from around the region as the New England District Golf Association pennants took place in Inverell on Sunday.

One hundred and sixteen players in teams of eight players, representing eight different clubs, participated in either a scratch or nett event.
The best six scores in each team of eight were added to calculate the team score.
Armidale's team won the scratch section with a total of 438.
the Guyra team won the nett event with a total nett of 404.
The Glen Innes team was the runner up in both scratch and nett.
Noah Every from Glen Innes was the individual winner for both gross and nett on the day after finishing with 67 off the stick and nett 61.
Local Inverell golfer, Tristan Irwin, was runner-up in the nett with 63.
He was followed by Damien Boylan, from Glen Innes, and Darrin Towells, from Guyra, with scores of 64.
Armidale golfer Tim Murray was the gross runner-up.
Inverell's next major event will be the Sapphire Cup at the end of the month.
It will run over Saturday and Sunday, January 29 and 30, and it will be made up of the Forsyths and Inverell H Hardware 4BBB stablefords.
The Tait Hino 9 hole Dash for Cash will be held the day prior to the Cup - Friday, January 28.
