I like the sound of our new mayor and wish him well, especially to grow Armidale. We have not grown much since we moved here more than 30 years ago.

However, I hope Sam Coupland has the graciousness to admit that he can be wrong.
I am with a large number of people who believe it is not a rail trail we need but a railway that can take us to Brisbane, or near it.
There are any number of reasons why, of which I am sure he is aware. A railway northwards is an essential, especially if Armidale is to grow. A trail is a luxury for a select few.
Once we have taken over the old rail track we will never get the land back and how short sighted is that?
