Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions from next week on the New England Highway to carry out maintenance work about 14 kilometres south of Glen Innes.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane with alternating flow on a 1.1 kilometre section of road to carry out maintenance work on the existing pavement. This will improve highway durability, ride quality and safety for motorists.
Work is scheduled to start from Monday 6 December and will be carried out from 6:30am to 6pm Monday to Saturday. Work is expected to be complete by early February 2022, weather permitting.
Traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
Transport for NSW thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
