The crowd managed to raise an impressive $42,000 in total on the day with active auction bids and raffle ticket purchases.

Craft beer, artisan gin and local wine makers were on hand to keep everyone refreshed on the day and ensure a merry mood was maintained.

Committee leader Lisa Patterson-Kane said she was overwhelmed with the support.

"We had a small dedicated committee who put in an enormous amount of work," Mrs Patterson-Kane said.

"And we are all so grateful to the many businesses and helpers who volunteered their services and time to the cause. In particular, Marchant Brothers and ETE for their assistance with the marquee at short notice."

The second High Country Long Lunch suffered a number of postponements since the inaugural St Patrick's Primary School fundraiser in April 2019.

First, it was the drought and its impact on local business and family income, and then because of COVID-19.

But thanks to a federal and state grant, it forged ahead as a Bushfire Community Recovery and Resilience Fund project.

Walcha Council also showed its support by donating nearly 200 olive trees for guests to take home to plant in their garden to celebrate the community's resilience.
