My vision is for Armidale to grow into a modern City that caters for all that live in our spectacular area.We need a council that is willing to work with the growing amount of people that want to invest in industry, private enterprises and housing, and show that, We are open for business and we will work to get a result that makes both parties happy.
The single most important issue I will see in my life time is the, 8 to 13 billion dollars that is going to be spent on the Renewable Energy Zone, and Armidale is slap bang in the middle of it.There is not a lot of difference between the REZ and the mining industry, they can either make or break a town or region.I personally think that the decommissioning of Wind and Solar is the biggest issue at the end of the day, and it's the one thing that the developers and government are side stepping and not addressing.
The most important project is to get Malpas Dam wall going ASAP, we don't need a crystal ball to see that, and after the wall is finished we need to put in a recreation area that caters for all facets of the water sports that are currently underway up there, this has been well over due for years.
Don't know if I am a expert at anything, but I can offer a good listening ear and be honest in representing anyone, not all the answers will be what they want, but thats the way life is.They way I see my role as a councillor is no different to life in a family, a business, or life in general, its a compromise, sometimes you get your way and sometimes you don't, if you get it 60 or 70 percent of the time, thats not to bad.
