These chitted potatoes have greenish, short, strong shoots and will soon be ready for planting. Chitted potatoes need a light position; if there is not enough light, the shoots become pale and elongated and are more likely to snap off when planting - perhaps you have found sprouted potatoes like that in the back of the cupboard!
