Walcha's Angus Scrivener, who is a year 11 student at O'Connor Catholic College in Armidale, did a lot of hard work in order to get selected, including giving a speech about robotic process automation.
While the occasion would understandably get to some, Angus handled himself well and will now get to take part in the two-week program.

He will complete a digital program and hear from a range of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) experts in week one, but in the second he will get to tour STEM sites and get practical knowledge of what a career in science looks like.
The 16-year-old said he was looking forward to that, as it fits in with what he wants to do in the future.
"I'm currently planning to go to university to get a bachelor of science and maths, and then a masters in science communication outreach," he said.
"Which will then give me the ability to do science communication outreach, so go and teach science to people, that's my goal."
He said going in with an open mind will be the best tactic and he may develop a fondness for something he isn't yet considering.
"I'm currently going into it with an idea of what I want to do but it's not set in stone, so I'm very interested to see science in action with our one week placement," he said.
"But also different aspects of science I may not have even thought of before, the opportunity to experience areas of science and technology that just aren't available to us.
"So the hope is to go in and either concrete my aspirations outside of school or completely change them."
Having also covered topics such as the way scientific information is released to the public and how it could be improved, and the positives and negatives of some modern inventions and how they impact society, Angus has shown he is well equipped to gain an understanding of whatever he is taught during the forum.
Angus will also be joined by Tamworth students Joey Hill from Oxley High School and Joseph Melville from McCarthy Catholic College.
