A report submitted by Water Technologies for the coordinator-general's office stated Bravus had sufficient measures in place to minimise erosion and discharge near their rail project, a conclusion disputed by environmentalists.

The Mackay Conservation Group has lodged a complaint with the coordinator-general and Deputy Premier Steven Miles over potential breaches on the Bravus rail corridor.

They are calling on the state government for the cessation of the rail line to investigate fresh erosion control breaches and sediment pollution at a 2km stretch of land, near to another reported on earlier this year.

In that instance, the group alleged conditions imposed by the coordinator-general on Adani's North Galilee Basin Rail Project to protect nearby waterways from contamination may have been breached.

Bravus rejected the allegations in February and have again refuted the conservation group's claims, questioning their legitimacy.

"We reject the allegations that have been made and have serious concerns as to the nature and legitimacy of the information that the Mackay Conversation Group claims to be the basis of their complaint," a spokesperson said.

The conservation group says they're concerned the Queensland government has failed to carry out commitments it made in May to monitor Adani's erosion and sediment control measures, with drone photos now showing erosion and sediment control failings on the rail line.

The pictures supplied by Frontline Action on Coal show turbid water ponding on the rail line without sediment traps on water entry and exit points, which can affect neighbouring land and waterways, the group says.

A former general manager for water allocation and planning in Queensland's environment department reviewed the photos and footage, identifying several locations where sediment pollution had spilled from the rail corridor and onto surrounding land.

Mackay Conservation Group co-ordinator Peter McCallum says it's simply not good enough.

"Adani's negligence and flagrant disregard for its environmental obligations is resulting in sediment loaded water polluting neighbouring land and contaminating waterways," he said.

"This is a 189km long construction site. That's a huge amount of potential damage being done.

"The public has been repeatedly told that the project is subject to strict environmental conditions, while Adani is repeatedly breaching these conditions. Environmental conditions are meaningless if they are not enforced."
