Deputy Prime Mininister Barnaby Joyce "has every intention" of establishing his ministerial office in a regional city, likely Armidale.

Before his 2018 resignation from cabinet, the New England MP's ministerial office was based in Armidale.
Mr Joyce told media on Sunday he hopes to be able to do the same thing this time around.

"My last office was in Armidale and I believe in decentralisation so if I can bring assets into regional towns, and this is my electorate, and Armidale's a regional city in this electorate, I'll be doing it," he said.
"I have to go to that ministerial office, so obviously it can't be on the other side of the nation, but I want to see it in a regional town and I have every intention of making we sure we get that into Armidale."
The MP is set to take up the ministries of infrastructure, transport and regional development after a reshuffle on the weekend.
As infrastructure minister, he would do his best to expedite the construction of the $484 million Dungowan Dam, he said.
