THE divide between the city and the country will be crossed this weekend when The Armidale School hosts more than 200 students and staff from Sydney Boys' High School for competition in five sports.

Basketball, football, rifle shooting, tennis and rugby will be contested in what has been a highlight of the sporting calendar of both schools for more than a decade.
Up for grabs will be the Hannon and Harris Cup.
First on the program are basketball fixtures in the school gym on Friday evening.

Shooters will take to the mounds of the TAS small bore range on Saturday morning.
Soccer games at Adamsfield will also be contested on Saturday.
Six rugby games from the 13As upwards will also be played on Saturday.
They will culminate with the First XV clash in the afternoon.
While it will be the ninth year the two schools have competed for the Hannon and Harris Cup, the sporting contests between the schools have been going for much longer.
Outgoing TAS head of school Alan Jones said: "The commitment from Sydney High to come to us each year and bring players for multiple sports stands out as representative of a wonderfully collegial character.
"As an Old Boy of Sydney High, I am looking forward to welcoming them very much and offer our collective thanks to their players and coaches alike, many of whom are venturing into regional NSW for the first time."
