The jury in the trial was handed a "comprehensive" list of venues before Justice Julia Lonergan sent them out of the courtroom briefly to contact members of their household.
She ordered all members of the jury to be given access to their phones while they made the calls.
"I appreciate this is a bit of a task," she told the court.
"At this stage it is very much an emerging situation and we all just need to be alert and not alarmed.
"We have been very lucky this year ... let's hope it can be contained very quickly."
Justice Lonergan said the lawyers in the room had also been given a list of venues visited by the confirmed case.
After a brief adjournment, evidence in the trial resumed.
Darcy, 46, has pleaded not guilty to murdering the 42-year-old sheep farmer on his property Pandora in Walcha in the early hours of August 2, 2017.
Her guilty plea to aiding or abetting suicide was rejected by the Crown.
The Crown argues Darcy sedated and gassed Mr Dunbar in a bid to inherit his $3.5 million property after his will was changed to include her.
Earlier on Wednesday, Dr Jane Vuletic gave evidence. The jury heard she conducted the post-mortem on Mr Dunbar after his death.
The trial continues.
