A TENTERFIELD woman has been flown to hospital on life-support after falling from a horse overnight.

The 76-year-old woman reportedly suffered head injuries and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was subsequently called to assist.
Local paramedics attended the rural property and commenced treatment of the woman before driving her to the Glen Innes Airport.

The rescue helicopter and a critical care medical team rendezvoused, where they further treated and stabilised the woman.
Due to the nature of the head injuries the female was placed onto a life-support machine before being flown directly to the John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
