The ground is the home of the Tigers, who have opted to sit out this year, but on Saturday it was where the Armidale Blues Rugby Union sides called home against Tamworth.
With their usual ground of Moran Oval undergoing maintainance, the Blues opted to give the Uralla community the chance to watch some senior football.
The move proved to be a successful one for the Armidale club who beat Tamworth in every grade.
In first grade, the Blues rocketed out of the blocks only for Tamworth to "claw their way back."
After leading 20-10 at half-time, the Armidale side held off a fast-finishing Magpies team to win 25-20.
Co-coach Luke Stephen said "defence was solid and underpinned the victory."
"We had a few injuries which disrupted our flow a little but once again when the game was in the line the guys were able to step up, make some plays and get a win," he said.
"They were able to play some good footy in the second half using the position of the sun and a smart kicking game to put us under pressure but our defence held solid.
"It is a bit different a surface to what the guys are playing on.

"It was definitely a heavier track with the kikuyu base so it definitely took a lot out of our guys.
"Fortunately for our guys, when the game was on the line, they were able to move the ball around get the local bloke, Shuaib Rhodes-Swain, in the corner for the winner.
"At the end of the day we got a win and we are happy with that."
Of taking the match to Uralla, Stephen was happy with how it was received.
"It was just a great day for everyone across the community," he said.
"I said this at the post-match functions, 'when you are in the small comp, to be able to do things that are different, albeit night games or different locations, just adds a bit of variety to the contest.'
"I think both clubs and the Uralla community really enjoyed the day."
Stephen highlighted Ian Ranger's efforts up front.
This Saturday, the Blues first grade and women's sides will get the week off with second and third grade facing the Glen Innes Elks in what is promising to be a pair of interesting clashes.
The Elks won their first round third grade clash against the Barbarians and then pummeled Robb College in their last start in both grades.
