As I reflected on this hard-won freedom, my thoughts were led to a quiet prayer about today's troubled situation around the world, and that we would not lose the freedoms others died to preserve.
War is not some GI Joe movie; it is brutal, vicious and totally devastating to all involved.

We need to be praying for our leaders that we may continue to live peaceful and quiet lives.
"I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people-for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness" (1 Timothy 2:1-2).
