Wondering what I'm talking about??
For years now Armidale has been sleep-walking into a crisis - losing financially, reputationally and morale-wise.
We haven't looked around to realise that the rest of the world has moved on from a Mon-Fri, 9-5 economy. Uralla certainly realised - and not because it has a road through it. In weekend recreational time we tend to head there rather than confronting the open grave in the heart of our own CBD.
We have a marvellous recreational venue in the heart of town that lies unused in most of the times we have available to visit, enjoy and use it.
The butcher, baker and candlestick maker are never going to return. Instead we have our civic space just waiting for life.

Council have recently begun realising this opportunity and the welcome news of a rehabilitated stage area with a permanent cover and other realistically needed improvements has set alight to the possibilities.
Weekend entertainment and different food opportunities are now all within easy reach and we don't need to be sad and embarrassed about the town's heart.
The possibilities are endless and exciting for us all. 'Bring it on' seems to be the reaction I've been hearing.
