Director of Co-curricular Mr Huon Barrett said hosting the NCIS Football Championships allowed TAS to contribute to the association's sporting fixtures, which are also held at Ballina, Lismore, Grafton and Coffs Harbour.
"It also provides both immediate and long term benefits for our students by offering a representative pathway to Combined Independent Schools on our doorstep, and gives them the chance to play some quality inter-school football, given they, and many other school teams, otherwise play in local competitions against club teams which include adults," he said.
The participating schools are: The Armidale School, Bishop Druitt College Coffs Harbour, Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School Tweed Heads, Emmanuel Anglican College Ballina, Clarence Valley Anglican School Grafton and Living School, Lismore.
