The region's keen readers and wordsmiths are being invited to participate in the Sydney Writers' Festival, with the event set to be streamed to the Armidale War Memorial Library and the Guyra L.T. Starr Memorial Library.

Streamed straight from Sydney's Carriageworks on Friday 30 April and Saturday 1 May, this year's festival will boast the likes of Barry Cassidy, Judy Blume and Michael Robotham.
Armidale Regional Council's General Manager James Roncon said the region should make the most of the opportunity to hear from some of the world's finest writers and journalists.

"The Sydney Writers' Festival is one of Australia's most popular forums for literature, ideas and storytelling, and allows people to interact and engage with some of the sharpest writers of our time," he said.
"It is a privilege to be able to have the event streamed to Armidale and Guyra as part of this year's Live and Local, so I am encouraging everyone to take part in this exciting opportunity."
The festival is known for its engaging conversations, debates and discussions, and audience members will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session at each event.
