The trip from Cessnock was a successful one for trainer Jeremy Sylvester with Drachenfels winning the main 1400m Cup race, Armidale's Stirling Osland earning a second with In Heart's Wake.
Former Armidale apprentice Rachael Murray had the ride on Drachenfels and guided the seven-year-old to the front in perfect timing.
Sitting second last heading into the straight, Murray held back and got the lead with 200 metres to go to claim the $32,000 race.
