For two days, North West's top young swimmers have dived into Armidale's Monckton Aquatic Centre for the regional championships. The rain which hammered the city last week stayed away as the Primary Schools' carnival was held on Monday and the High Schools' on Tuesday. The carnival is a breakthrough of sorts with the coronavirus pandemic wreaking havoc on school sports events in 2020. While there was plenty of talent across the board, records broken and medals won, High Schools' carnival convener Rozina Mison was thankful to be out and about celebrating school sport again.
