Todd Adrian Henry faces several charges, accused of trying to break into a home while a woman was inside, as well as violently lashing out at the police who tried to arrest him.
New England officer-in-charge Inspector James Parsons told the ACM all three Tenterfield officers were injured, and had to be assessed by paramedics after Monday night's attack.
"This alleged behaviour is absolutely deplorable, and police condemn such actions," Inspector Parsons said.

"Officers shouldn't have to be continually subject to violence or threats of violence as they go about their duties.
"The community should be outraged; this is three officers who went to work and ended up being treated by paramedics."
He said a female senior constable, who suffered shoulder, hip, knee and hand injuries after also being punched in the face, is off work. Another male counterpart punched in the face is now recovering ahead of his next shift later this week, while a constable returned to work late on Tuesday.
"The officers are battered and bruised, they have been treated for grazes, abrasions and other injuries," Inspector Parsons said.
"Two of the three officers will be undergoing further medical assessment, including one who will not be able to work their shift on [Tuesday night].
"Police are there to provide a service to the community, to keep the community safe and these injuries prevent our officers from doing their job."
Henry appeared in Armidale Local Court on Tuesday but was not required to enter pleas, and made no application for release.
He faces charges of aggravated break-and-enter with intent knowing a person is inside; assaulting police causing actual bodily harm; assaulting police; and resisting officers.
Magistrate Roger Prowse formally refused bail, ordering Henry to remain in custody until mid-March when the case returns to court.
Police were called to the Mount Lindsay Road property outside of Tenterfield about 8pm on Monday, after an emergency call for a man who had allegedly attempted to enter the home before he was stopped by the resident, a 49-year-old woman.
The three officers attempted to arrest the 48-year-old man, when he lashed out, allegedly punching the senior male officer in the face.
When the female officer intervened, she was allegedly punched in the face.
It's the police case Henry continued to struggle and lash out at police, kicking and punching officers who deployed capsicum spray.
He was eventually arrested and taken to Tenterfield Police Station where they allege he again turned on police, refusing to leave the vehicle and striking officers.
Henry is alleged to have punched and kicked the police several times before he was subdued and removed from the caged truck.
