Juliette Knuckey said while she put a lot of effort into her work, it was still a surprise to be included in the exhibition.

"My work is titled 'self portrait' and it revolves around the idea that every person we come in contact with has an impact on our lives in some way and that my personality has been shaped by all these little influences throughout my life," she said.
"It's a puzzle and each piece I have painted to represent someone who has influenced me. I want the audience to look at it and think who would be in their puzzle."
The exhibition showcases the outstanding works of art created by NSW students who overcame many hurdles to complete the Higher School Certificate (HSC) Visual Arts examination in 2020.
The exceptional bodies of work included in ARTEXPRESS 2021 represent a broad range of approaches across a range of art forms, including painting, drawing, photo-media, sculpture, ceramics, time-based works, documented form, printmaking, textiles and fibre and graphic design.
Noah Standen-Roberts' work is called 'A series of lessons' and he says the concept was to document the process of growing up.
"It's a compilation of drawings that were from photos I had taken of myself nearly every day from the ages of 12 until 19," he said.
"It was a big project because there were a couple of thousand photographs taken over seven years."
Noah said he was surprised and 'blown away' to be included in the exhibition.
"I remember seeing the exhibition years ago and thinking how cool it would be to have a work included," he said.
The exhibition features 48 artworks selected from student works submitted for the 2020 HSC, including works by students from government and non-government schools from across metropolitan and regional NSW.
Currently on show at the Art Gallery of NSW it will tour the regions throughout the year and will be at the New England Regional Art Museum (NERAM) from April 9 to June 6.
