A TRUCK driver has been airlifted to Tamworth hospital after his truck rolled near Walcha earlier on Tuesday.

The man suffered back injuries and shock when the cabin and trailer rolled off the Oxley Highway about 11am. Emergency services said the man managed to climb out of the wreckage before help arrived.
The rollover occurred between Walcha and Gingers Creek, near the intersection of Cells River Road.
Ambulance NSW confirmed two ambulance road crews were deployed to the crash site, along with the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
The chopper's critical care medical team assessed the patient on scene, and the man was flown to Tamworth hospital in a stable condition.
Stop/slow traffic controls are now in place at the crash site.
The RMS said some motorists should expect delays.
The crash is being investigated.

EMERGENCY services are rushing to the scene of a truck crash which has blocked the Oxley Highway.
Ambulance NSW confirmed three paramedics crews are en route to reports of a truck rollover between Walcha and Gingers Creek.
The truck is believed to have rolled on the highway about 11am on Tuesday.
There are unconfirmed reports one person is injured. It's understood the truck was the only vehicle involved in the crash.

The RMS said the truck has rolled, blocking the roadway, about 4km east of Cells River Road. Crews have advised the highway might close for sometime.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area, make alternative arrangements and delay travel.
No known diversion has been established as yet, the RMS said.
