It was the National Day of Action to "Protect our Future".
As the Red Rebels walked slowly amid the busy shoppers, curious onlookers were offered information about the National Day of Action, which supports a quick transition to renewable energy sources and opposes the continued development of fossil fuel industries.

A spokesperson for the group said: "In our busy lives, there is little space to grieve decisions that are being made by government and big business that have a negative effect on the environment, climate and our future.
"These decisions, such as the Narrabri Gas Project, go ahead despite major public outcry.
"The Red Rebels openly represent the collective grief about these decisions."
Meanwhile, they said the recently announced phasing out of coal-fired power and investment in Renewable Energy Zones in NSW was helping to "protect our future" and said these decisions were to be applauded by all who value a more sustainable, healthier tomorrow.
