Hillgrove put Easts to the sword to secure a six-wicket victory.
Easts won the toss, chose to bat and were travelling along nicely with Will Green reaching 12 runs before he was dismissed.
Then Ian Ranger and Dean Waters were at the crease and began to set things up.
Easts lost Waters on 22 and Ranger on 19, and from there it was a disaster.
The scorecard of the final seven batsmen 6, 1, 2, 5, 1, 5, 0 and 0 not out as the Hillgrove bowlers tore through, Easts all out for 95 runs.
Hillgrove veteran Matt Schaefer finished with 4-10 from eight overs, newcomer Rana Samiullah 3-28 from nine overs, young guns Sam Johnson and Hamish Biddle claimed one each while Myandran Subrayan chimed in with one as well.
