That was the message last week when Anthony Sevil's book was launched in Armidale.
"This was a huge occasion for me," Anthony said.
"I am 75 and this was the launch of my first children's book, indeed my first ever book. I was overwhelmed with the warmth and interest at the launch."
Reader's Companion Bookshop hosted the delightful launch for the children's book published by Little Pink Dog Books, last Thursday.

Hector and his Highland Dancers is an illustrated children's story book with illustrations by Amy Calautti.
While Anthony was present at the launch, unfortunately Amy, who created the brilliantly quirky illustrations, was unable to attend as she lives in Western Australia.
However, there were many friends and supporters to witness this lovely author presentation and reading.
Anthony read a couple of passages from the book to the assembled audience which was enthusiastically greeted, with many purchasing copies of the book.
Anthony explained how he came into writing and his other creative pursuits in art and sculpture.
Having spent his early years as a 'square peg in a round hole' in employment positions which were totally unsuited to his natural creative talents, Anthony credited an the publisher, set up to support new and emerging talented authors and illustrators, for his achievement.
"I am most grateful to our wonderful local children's book publishing company, Little Pink Dog Books, for the opportunity they have given me, and for appreciating the rather wacky humour in the story," he said.
"It has given huge impetus to my writing life. It has given a great boost to my confidence and I am sure I will be writing many more stories."
Peter and Kathy Creamer, who run Little Pink Dog Books are now looking forward to hearing about the next adventure of Hector, a most remarkable and rather talented chicken.
- Hector and his Highland Dancers is available at all good bookshops and would be a wonderful addition to the Christmas stockings of many avid younger (4 - 10 years) book readers.
