Winning the toss and batting first, Armidale's young team didn't make much of an impact.
Seventeen-year-old Ryan Simpson departed early with nine, Moree's Alf Newman snagging the wicket before Tom Britton scored the scalp of BJ Cameron for 11.
Opening batsman and fellow teenager, Henry Starr, was trapped leg-before-wicket on 12 off Beau McMahon and then Britton had his second in the form of Armidale's Anton Peenz for six to have the visitors at 4-41.
Another teenager in 16-year-old Sam Johnson departed for 22 with Ben Day snagging the wicket.
McMahon then went back-to-back, first with dangerman Nick Levy caught on six and then Brandon Landsborough dismissed for a duck.
Britton then landed another blow when Nathan Street was trapped lbw on naught.
