Less than a week after barely looking like they were not even going to take the field this season, Easts managed to post their first win of the Armidale cricket season.

An emergency meeting last Wednesday was going to be the final chance for players to signal interest in taking the field for the season.
Luckily, they pulled it together.
"We went from having an emergency meeting on Wednesday, where we were about to fold the club due to a lack of players, to being able to scrounge our way to having one side for first grade," Easts president Aaron Whackett said.
Family ties helped with Will Green, who is in his third season at the club, enticing his brothers Bobby Kelly and Justin Green, as well as his son Callan to play.
Also stepping back into the first grade side was Brandon Burey, who sat out last season.
Another new face was Tom Craig, making his first grade debut after previously playing third grade.

With numbers on board, they made their way up the pinch for their first game of the season.
Against another new-look side, in Guyra, things were looking grim early for Easts.
Veteran Mitch Woods struck early for Guyra, removing Will Green for six before 16-year-old debutante Billy Youman immediately impressed with the ball.
Youman snared the huge wicket of Easts' big-hitter Cody Graham for four before sending opener Ian Ranger back to the sheds as well for nine.
Woods struck again immediately after with Callan Green caught on a duck.
New recruit Bobby Kelly settled the innings along side brother Justin Green.
Kelly made 56 while Green earned 35, Guyra's Joey Ryan claiming the scalps.
The next partnership came at the hands of Whackett and new club captain Clarrie Moran.
The duo put on a 99-run partnership before Whackett's innings came to an end when Youman claimed him as well.
Youman then removed Luke Uphill for a duck.
Moran was saved by sloppy fielding by Guyra on multiple occasions but held on to remain on 71 not out, alongside Burey on 20 not out, as they finished their 45 overs on 8-292.
Guyra's run chase started dismally as well.
Easts' debutante Craig bowled opener Heath Dowsett for a duck and then Ben Jackson only managed five before sending a Burey ball straight up in the air to land safely in the hands of the bowler.
Craig had his second of the match when Joey Ryan was trapped leg-before-wicket and Guyra were suddenly in trouble at 3-11.
Skipper Charlie White entered the frame and put runs on the board. Guyra managed to get 49 before Grant Ryan was caught off Ranger's bowling for 13.
Brandon Landsborough added a handy 28 before he was bowled by Graham.
The next was DJ Patterson for a duck off Graham again before White's respectable 51 came to an end with Moran snagging the wicket.
Woods only added two to Guyra's total before Craig claimed his scalp.
At 8-113, things were looking dire for Guyra but Youman and Matt Simpson ensured they weren't done yet.
Youman's first runs in the top grade came in the form of a boundary as he made his way to 40 before Graham bowled him.
Playing against his old club, Tyson Burey stepped up as the number 11 batsman before the final wicket of Simpson was claimed by Moran.
Burey finished on 35 not out as Guyra finished on 228, short of the 293 required.
Whackett said his side thought they were comfortable until Guyra's tail wagged.
"It snuck away from us, we were trying to get wickets and we kind of forgot about Billy," he said.
"It really got away from us, it was horrendous."
He applauded the efforts of their debutante in Craig.
"He bowled very well," he said.
"It is a pretty big step up. He has only ever played third grade and then gets chucked in first grade to open the bowling.
"He came back on at the death there and bowled some pretty handy overs."
Whackett also made mention of the club's plan to continue to recruit players by offering them a cheap, $50 season fee which will be refunded if they play nine games and help out around the club.
