NEW student leaders were inducted at The Armidale School last week, with prefects and house captains a mix of boarders and day students and boys and girls.

The Senior Prefects for the coming year are Rocco Louis (Hernani) and Hannah Neilson (Armidale), while the Deputy Senior Prefects are Tom Forsythe from Scone and Hattie Oates, of Tamworth.
They are supported by, as prefects, Louis Cannington (Moree), Archie Chick (Armidale), Oliver Cook (Moree), Georgia Donoghue (Armidale), April Draney (Armidale), Lily Etheridge (Barraba), Lachlan Galbraith (Armidale) Hudson McAllister (Armidale), Eliza Ward (Armidale) and Tom Younghusband (Baradine).

Other student leaders who are house captains and vice captains include Archie McDonald (Sydney), Keeley O'Connor (Gold Coast), Isaiah Ruming (Newcastle), Delta Hawkins-Richardson (Walgett) and from Armidale, Rohan Lawrence, Piyumi Ekanayake, Alex Hall, Sam Coombes, Nick O'Neil, April Draney, Mehdi Ahsan, Isabella Gooch, Josiah Alcorn, Bronte Dagg and Pippa Moss.
The students acknowledged the past yet looked to the future at their induction ceremony at the school on 15 October, reciting a pledge that dates back more than eight decades.
Head of School Alan Jones said leadership positions were not a prize for what has already been done already, but a call is to assist the direction of the school in maintaining its standards in all areas, supporting students and inspiring pride in the school through good example.
