A walking track and cycleway will be built to address the "gap" in Uralla's path network.
Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall announced the state government would help foot the bill, with a $40,000 grant.

The path will be designed to connect key destinations around town, like the school, park, showgrounds, CBD and sporting complex.
Uralla Shire Council will construct the shared track along Plane Avenue, from East Street to Rowan Avenue.
Mr Marshall said with cycling more popular than ever, and walking trips on the rise, it was important for the government to provide funding help to get the infrastructure needed off the ground, to support local communities.
"If we want to encourage more people to leave the car at home and get active, we need to provide access to safe, convenient and connected waking and cycling networks," he said.
"This project will provide a huge boost for residents and businesses, completing a crucial missing link in Uralla's walking and cycling network and providing better connections between residential areas and the CBD."
