Armidale City Westside defeated TAS First XI 2-1 on Wednesday night at Harris Park- TAS, as they so often do, led the game at half-time through a goal to Mac Orr. In the second-half Armidale City Westside came over the top of TAS with goals to J Saxby and P Rosee, to give the team an especially important win moving towards the final series.
South Armidale Green beat Inverell 6-1-South Armidale Green came out firing and when they scored their first goal early in the match, their confidence grew and continually created pressure on the Inverell squad. Inverell's biggest challenge was their inability to hold the middle of the paddock, which fell into the hands of the South Green play. The score was 3-nil at half time with goals to Arkan Sh Sarullah, Rami Sinoki and Amory Ali. The second was similar with goals to Bassim Ali, Mishzad Alali and Elias Shngali for South Green and a penalty to P Abayo for Inverell.
North Armidale Redmen defeated East Armidale Suburbs 4-2-A big reversal for the Suburbs from their encounter earlier in the season. They threw my prediction of six plus goals out the window with a gutsy performance, showing that with the influx of a few players that they can be competitive in this competition. At half-time, the Redmen were in front by two goals to one through Declan Druitt and Jason Boundy, while John Elliot scored for the Suburbs. The second-half saw goals to Lachlan Harris and Jacob Freeman for the Redmen and a goal to Wez Styles for the Suburbs.
Demon Knights had a 2-nil win over TAS First XI-TAS have also proven that they can mix it with the big boys. This game went to DK through goals to Lachlan Williamson in the first half and to Nashal Jarillah in the second-half.
Open Division 2-The South Armidale Yellow and Armidale City Westside game met all expectations in a 1-all draw outcome. South Yellow lead at half time with a goal from Dom Waters, while O Shaquli's goal in the saw Armidale City Westside equalise to give them the draw.
Open Division 3-East Armidale Suburbs did go on a goal scoring spree winning their encounter with Armidale City Westside by 9-1. A hat-trick to Andrew Boyle, and goals to Kerrigan Lee, Jacob Baines and Craig Taggart for the Suburbs and a goal to Sam Townsend for Armidale City Westside saw the Suburbs in front by 6-1. Two goals to Jake Davies and one to Jake Caldwell in the second-half gave the Suburbs a 9-1 win.
16 Years-North Armidale Redmen showed their dominance over the competition with their 8-nil win over sixth placed Demon Knights Stormbirds. Braith Kliendienst scored two goals, David Green and Nick Budgan for the Redmen in the first-half. This was followed by tow to Cooper Heagney and goals to Josh Dunbar and Brayden Kliendienst. This was a good game to finish off the season at Bellevue Oval.
14 Years-North Armidale Red Arrows came over the top of South Armidale Sonics late in the second half to take the premiership. This was a great finale to the season with both teams displaying their well-balanced team structures. The score was a tense 1-all draw at half time (my prediction of the final score) with the first goal to the Sonics, Jarrod Frost followed by a Stuart Parsons goal near half time for the Red Arrows. The second-half eventually was claimed by the Red Arrows through goals to Hamish Wallace and Will Griggs to give the Red Arrows the victory. Awesome game to watch.
12 Years Division 1-Demon Knights Daredevils win to finish the season as undefeated premiers. With only two goals scored against them in the season, they have dominated this competition.
In another great game at Bellevue Oval, the Daredevils were too strong for TAS White, winning 5-1. A much more exciting game than the result shows. TAS showed why they were strongly challenging for second position on the ladder. Ultimately a hattrick to Jamie Lawry and goals to Myles Harris and Giles Buckman gave the Darevedils a comfortable win.
12 Years Division 2- tight finish to the season for with Demon Knights Demons' draw against Armidale City Westside not good enough for them to catch up to the Demon Knights Daggers.
