Katherine and Isabella Hosking were named in the Australian team for the 2020 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships set down for Austria in October but have opted not to make the journey over.
Katherine has been part of the Australian team before and was set to compete in the Cross Country Olympic under 23 category while Bella was due to make her debut in the under 19s.
"It was an amazing opportunity. I was really honoured to be selected on the team," Bella said.

"But due to the COVID situation, not being able to go is disappointing.
"It was such a big opportunity to represent Australia, it would have been really cool.
"Now I am just getting back into training and looking forward to national championships which will hopefully go ahead in March next year.
"I am looking forward to getting back into racing once everything has settled down and hopefully there will be more opportunities to represent Australia in the future."
