The decision was made after thorough consideration was given to the dynamic risks and social welfare concerns regarding COVID-19.
Both the Walcha Mountain Festival, which was due to be held in October and the Walcha Motorcycle Rally in November have been postponed to 2021.
"The decision to postpone these events has not been made lightly," Walcha mayor Eric Noakes said.
"It has been made at this early stage to ensure we don't let our visitors, community or event partners down.
"We care about the health and wellbeing of our communig and all of our visitors, and will plan to hold these events in 2021 when it is safe and responsible to do so.
"The Walcha Motorcycle Rally is a special event on our calendar and will return better than ever in 2021.
"The already established Walcha Council Motorcycle Rally Committee will continue their hard work to prepare for the 2021 event, led by Council's Tourism team."
The Walcha Motorcycle Rally 2021 webpage is already live. Anyone interested in the event can go to the site and register their interest to receive updates and information about the event to make sure that they do not miss out on any news.
"We understand how important tourism and events are to our local businesses," Mr Noakes said.
"Even while considering COVID-19 restrictions, Walcha offers many safe activities and attractions for visitors to see and enjoy.
"We are surrounded by National Parks, nature trails, mountain bike trails, nationally renowned motorcycle rides, as well as our internationally known Open Air Gallery of sculptures and artworks, which now includes a new "Soundtrail" for visitors to listen to as they walk our streets and beautiful levee banks.
"Many of our attractions are suited to families and small groups which can be enjoyed every day, not just during large events.
"Slow and consistent tourism supports our covid aware culture, and can provide our businesses with a steady flow of activity."
