The clinic will be operating from next Monday, July 27 and will be open from 1pm to 3pm, Monday to Friday, with the possibility to extend hours if demand increases.
Public Health Physician Dr Tony Merritt said the new clinic will assist efforts to identify any reintroduction of COVID-19 in the community.
"With new cases of COVID-19 recently confirmed in the Hunter area, it is vital people continue to present for testing if experiencing symptoms to limit the spread of the virus," Dr Merritt said.
"Anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms such as fever, sore throat, cough or shortness of breath, is urged to get tested.
"Even those with mild symptoms such as fatigue, new muscle aches or pains, a change in taste or smell or a new runny nose are encouraged to arrange testing."
Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall said while the region is currently free of any active coronavirus cases, the community must be remain on high alert.
"Our state is now facing the most critical stage of the COVID-19 pandemic since the initial late-March lockdown," he said.
"We all have to stay vigilant and cannot afford any complacency - we have all given up too much to go backwards, like Victoria has.
"If we have learnt anything from the outbreak in Victoria, it is the need for people to STAY AT HOME AND ISOLATE until their test results come back negative.
"Our businesses and communities cannot afford the economic cost of restrictions being brought back in because of another severe outbreak."
People are asked to call 0427 923 080 during operating hours to book an appointment before attending the clinic.
