Bremner spent 17 years coaching fellow Central North-based club, the Inverell Highlanders, who have had their fair share of battles over the years.
Now Bremner will face them again, this time in the New England Rugby Union competition, when he makes his first appearance as the Baa Baas' mentor for round one this Saturday.
"It will be tough, they [Walcha] have been in the Central North grand final the last three years and, realistically, their team is unchanged," Bremner said.
"They have got a lot of their combinations set and they have some very, very good footballers but, mind you, we have got a bit of talent too so it will be a good."
Last season was a tough one for the Baa Baas.
They struggled with injuries for much of 2019 and failed to make the finals.
Bremner said they "have ended up with good numbers" for this year and quashed rumours that said they have premiership-winning Tamworth Pirates players joining their ranks.
"There was a little bit of talk that some players from Pirates were coming up but they haven't," he said.
"It would've been nice to have them but we are pretty happy to have a local crew sort of thing and just work on the family side of the club; getting families involved and having a good time.

"It is as much about having fun this year as it is about winning a competition."
They'll play at Alcatraz and, at this stage, spectators are allowed but must obey coronavirus restrictions.
At the time of publishing, it is still unknown whether Walcha will field a third grade team but the women's sevens, first and second grade matches will be played.
