As a matter of priority the Ministry of Heath has updated the guidelines for sports and recreational organisations to restrict the number of spectators at sporting events.
The updated guidelines state that entry to indoor facilities and fenced venues are now limited to one person per participant (one parent or caregiver) at junior sport where practical and restricting spectator entry at adult community sport.
All community sporting groups have been advised to decrease the number of spectators at their sporting events in order to adhere to the new guidelines.
The NSW Ministry of Health has also requested the following to be excluded:
- Participants (including spectators and officials) if they have visited Victoria in the 14 days prior.
- Participants (including spectators and officials) if they have attended any of the reported case locations listed on the NSW Health website (https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates).
"It is important for to take all reasonable steps to minimise the number of spectators attending community sport events" stated NSW Ministry of Health.
