The thought that the remaining seven members of the Armidale Regional Council may constitute our council for the balance of this term, once the period of stand-down is completed, fills many of us with dread.
The goings-on in this current council have been both alarming and embarrassing. What people from outside our area must think of us as a community doesn't bear thinking about.
No doubt, some of those elected to represent us have acted in the best interest of the community. Sadly, it appears, several have preferred pushing their personal barrows.

The result has been the most toxic brew of personal malice imaginable.
So much wasted energy: talk about taking your eye off the ball!
We need a period of time to allow things to cool down so that in September next year a whole new cohort of community focused, forward looking citizens might offer themselves for election.
I can't imagine anyone wanting to subject themselves to more of what we've had this term.
We certainly need and deserve better.
